Forest acquisition, management and restoration in Finland
We acquire forest estates to our clients’ criteria, manage them over the long term with continuous cover forestry, and carry out restoration projects.
Acquisition
We source and acquire forest estates in Finland for companies, foundations and investors. We know the Finnish forest property market and have a wide network among forest owners and forestry professionals.
- Defining search criteria together with the client
- Sourcing estates on the open market and directly from owners
- Field inspection and valuation
- Preparing the offer and completing the transaction
Example: Artek acquired forest in Heinävesi to secure the supply of high-quality Finnish birch. Arvometsä acts as Artek’s acquisition and forest management partner.Contact us
Forest asset management
We manage acquired forests over the long term, according to the owner’s goals. Continuous cover forestry provides steady returns, keeps the forest covered and strengthens its natural values.
- Forest management plan and updates
- Planning, tendering and supervision of harvests and silvicultural work
- Regular reporting to the owner

Restoration and ecological compensation
We plan and carry out restoration of former peat extraction areas, mires and forests. We also help companies compensate their impact on nature through ecological compensation, in a credible and measurable way. We take part in restoration project calls organised by the Finnish Forest Centre.
- Site survey and restoration plan
- Implementation and supervision of restoration work
- Planning and implementation of ecological compensation

Calculation services
We provide analyses to support decisions, from a single estate to a full forest portfolio.
Valuation. We value forest estates using the income approach: the present value of net income over the planning period plus the value of the remaining growing stock.
Sustainability accounting. We quantify the effects of forest management on carbon, biodiversity and multiple use. Carbon is tracked in three pools: trees, soil and wood products, and compared against regional reference levels.
